Pharmaceutical management

A doctor prescribes, pharmacist honours the prescription and pharma managers plan this journey. Pharmaceutical Management integrates business strategy with Science and Technology. Pharmaceutical management or managers have the responsibility of planning, organising and execution of strategies. Some of the core areas of pharmaceutical management are consumer behaviour, brand management, distribution management, product management, paradigm shift and overall management.

Behavioural issues at the consumer/physician level and non‐behavioural issues in pricing and medical expenses need to be studied periodically, followed by supply chain management and operations management.

Pharmaceutical management in American region focus more on development and marketing while Europe is aligned towards manufacturing and distribution. In developing countries pharmaceutical management focus on marketing and today industry need substantial increase in overall research efforts.
